Nicola Samorì

Born in Forlì, 1977. Lives and works in Bagnacavallo.

In his paintings, sculptures and installations, Nicola Samorì invites the viewer to participate not only in eye contact, but also in a deeply physical experience. Managing to combine, in a masterly way, a strong intensity inspired by theatrical aesthetics of Renaissance and Baroque art with the loss of control of the Informal, the compositions paintings of Samorì, as well as the sculptures, document the persistence of an imprint outdated in the contemporary. The artist has, in fact, developed a completely personal way to relate to the body of the Museum: manipulate the syntax of a vast repertoire of works and, when he seems to test their unsustainability, at the same time testifies to their vulnerabilities, sabotaging their codes with cumbersome incursions or with minimal moves . Each of his compositions is marked by a ceremony of systematic deconstruction, a device capable of putting the academic hand in crisis in the shortest possible time.
